Ferro Silicon 65 is mainly an iron alloy composed of iron and silicon. Due to the easy combination of silicon and oxygen to form silicon dioxide, silicon iron is often used as a deoxidizer in steelmaking. The oxidation reaction itself is an exothermic reaction, which can increase the temperature of molten steel while deoxidizing. At the same time, ferrosilicon can also be used as an alloying element additive, widely used in low alloy structural steel, spring steel, bearing steel, and electrical silicon steel. At the same time, ferrosilicon is commonly used as a reducing agent in ferroalloy production and chemical industry. The production of ferrosilicon is based on natural silica as raw material, using metallurgical coke as a reducing agent and adding a certain amount of iron containing material for smelting. When using this process to produce 65 ferrosilicon, in order to ensure the permeability of mineral materials, the particle size of silica and coke is relatively large. The particle size of silica is generally 60-120mm, and the particle size of coke is generally 5-22mm.

Preparation of ferrosilicon
The preparation of ferrosilicon can be achieved through two basic methods: smelting and erosion.
The smelting method is to smelt silicon ore together with high-purity smelting iron ore to obtain silicon iron alloy.
The erosion method involves melting high-purity silicon and pure iron together, then cooling and solidifying to obtain silicon iron.
When using ferrosilicon, it is important to pay attention to the following safety information. Ferrosilicon releases toxic hydrogen gas when in contact with water and acid, so contact with water or acid should be avoided. In addition, ferrosilicon is also prone to oxidation and should be avoided from exposure to air during storage or use. If in contact with ferrosilicon, appropriate protective measures should be taken, such as wearing gloves and goggles.
