The characteristics of ferrosilicon 65 are mainly reflected in its functions as a deoxidizer, purifying molten steel, raising furnace temperature and as an additive of alloying elements. Ferrosilicon 65 contains a certain amount of silicon. During the steelmaking process, ferrosilicon 65 can react with oxygen in molten steel to achieve the effect of deoxidation. Compared with the traditional deoxidation method, this deoxidation method has a better effect and can save the time and labor resources consumed in the deoxidation of steelmaking. At the same time, it can also increase the furnace temperature and the yield of alloy conversion, thus improving the quality of finished steel.

In the process of steelmaking, ferrosilicon 65 can solve the problem of floating oxides on the surface of molten steel. Its elements react with oxides to gather a large number of oxides, which is convenient for filtering and purifying molten steel, thus improving the quality of finished steel. Excessive discharge from the dust removal system of the ferrosilicon furnace will hurt the environment. The causes of excessive emission include improper operation of equipment, damaged filter bags and incomplete flue gas treatment. Solutions include strengthening equipment operation management, regularly checking filter bags and replacing them in time, and adopting effective flue gas treatment technology.
