75# Ferro Silicon is often used in the high-temperature smelting process of magnesium in the Pidgeon process, which replaces magnesium in CaO and MgO. About 1.2 tons of Ferro Silicon is consumed for every ton of magnesium produced. Ferro Silicon plays a significant role in the production of magnesium metal.
Uses of Ferro Silicon Lumps in other areas. Finely ground or atomized FeSi powder can be used as a suspension phase in the mineral processing industry. 72# 75# FeSi can be used as a coating for welding rods in the welding rod manufacturing industry. High-silicon Ferro Silicon Granules can be used in the chemical industry to produce silicone and other products.
Among these applications, the steelmaking industry, foundry industry, and ferroalloy industry are the largest users of Iron Silicon, consuming more than 90% of it. Among different grades of Ferro Silicon Alloy, 75% silicon iron is currently the most widely used.
