It was born in the mid-19th century and gradually developed and matured with the growing demand for deoxidizers in the steel industry. In steelmaking, ferrosilicon 72 plays three main roles: first, as an efficient deoxidizer, it can combine with oxygen in molten steel to generate silicon dioxide, effectively removing harmful gases; second, as an alloying element, silicon can significantly improve the strength and hardness of steel; in addition, it can also improve the fluidity of molten steel, which is conducive to casting. In cast iron production, ferrosilicon 72 is an important additive that promotes graphite precipitation and improves cast iron performance.

In the production of special steel, silicon steel sheets with special electromagnetic properties can be developed by precisely controlling the silicon content, which are widely used in power equipment.
