Products Description

Ferrotitanium 30 is a trigonal crystal system and belongs to the rhombohedral crystal class. Often in the form of irregular granules, scales or thick plates. Above 950℃, ilmenite and hematite form complete homogeneity. When the temperature decreases, melting occurs, so ilmenite often contains small scaly hematite inclusions.

 

The color of ilmenite is iron black or steel gray, and the streaks are steel gray or black. When hematite inclusions are included, they appear brown or brownish red streaks. Ilmenite mainly occurs in ultrabasic rocks, basic rocks, alkaline rocks, acidic rocks and metamorphic rocks.

 

High carbon titanium iron contains 17% titanium and 7% carbon, and the remaining iron is used as an additive for purifying the steel ladle.
Low carbon titanium iron alloy contains 20% to 25% titanium, 0.10% carbon, 4% silicon, and 3.5% lead, with the remaining being iron. It is used as a reducing agent and is refined using ilmenite in an electric furnace.

Titanium can increase the wear resistance and tensile strength of steel. Titanium-ferroalloy is an important raw material for the production of chain steel, chain steel, shipbuilding steel, stainless steel, welding rods, electronics, and military products.

 

Ferro-titanium is used as deoxidizer, degassing agent and carbon-sulfur stabilizer in steelmaking.

1. The titanium deoxidation used in the production of killed steel can reduce the segregation on the top of the ingot, improve the quality of the steel and increase the yield of the ingot.

2. Titanium can combine with nitrogen dissolved in molten steel to form stable titanium nitride, which can eliminate the bad effect of nitrogen on the properties of steel. Titanium reacts with sulfur in the molten steel to form titanium sulfide, eliminating the formation of iron sulfide that leads to hot embrittlement. Titanium and carbon form extremely stable titanium carbide. The particles of titanium carbide can prevent steel grain from growing, refine steel structure and increase steel strength.

3. The chemical affinity between titanium and carbon is larger than that between chromium and carbon. Adding titanium iron to stainless steel to fix carbon can eliminate chromium depletion at the grain boundary and improve the corrosion resistance of stainless steel.

 

In recent years, titanium has been High-strength low-alloy steel as a microalloying element. The addition of titanium to cast iron contributes to the formation of fine-grained graphite, and also plays the role of degassing, inoculation, purification and refinement of the casting structure, improving the wear resistance of the casting. The heat resistance of cast iron can be improved by adding titanium.

In addition, the superalloy and the aluminum alloy production uses the titanium composite alloy as the additive. The welding quality can be improved by using ti-fe as coating component.
