The ferrotitanium electric furnace smelting method includes the following process steps: adding titanium concentrate, rutile, quicklime, iron ore powder, ferrosilicon and other mineral materials according to the proportion into a high-temperature smelting furnace that can withstand temperatures above 3000℃, heating to 1800~2200℃, and completely melting the mineral materials in the furnace; adding 0.5~1.0mm metal aluminum particles as a reducing agent and potassium ammonia as a heat enhancer to the completely melted mineral materials in the high-temperature smelting furnace, and using the reduction heat released by the metal aluminum to raise the temperature in the high-temperature smelting furnace to above 3000℃, so that the titanium dioxide in the mineral materials is reduced to metal titanium, and polymerized with iron to form ferro-titanium alloy.

After the smelted ferro-titanium alloy is cooled to below 500℃ with the high-temperature smelting furnace, the solidified ferro-titanium alloy is taken out of the high-temperature smelting furnace as a whole and placed in a cooling pool for cooling. The smelting method of the present invention has the advantages of simple process, easy operation, low cost, high output, stable product quality, etc., and is suitable for the production of ferrotitanium in small and medium-sized smelting furnaces of different capacities.
