Therefore, it is necessary to study a preparation method with a short process, low cost and environmental friendliness, so that ferrotitanium can be used in more fields.

In order to find a new low-cost titanium-iron alloy preparation process, a lot of research work has been done both at home and abroad. The new processes studied include molten salt electrolysis. However, this method has only been successful in the laboratory so far. To achieve large-scale production, the first thing to do is to solve the problems of mixed cathode preparation and poor conductivity. Secondly, the electrolytic cell must be sealed and the atmosphere must be protected. Then, the effect of the change in the valence state of titanium ions on the current efficiency during the electrolysis process must be overcome. It is still very difficult to solve the above problems at the same time in practice. Moreover, molten salt electrolysis must be carried out at a temperature of 800°C, which consumes a certain amount of energy and corrodes the equipment.
