Description of Ferrotitanium
Ferrotitanium could be obtained on the condition of blending titanium sponge and scrap with iron and melting them together in an induction furnace. It is mainly used in steelmaking (as a deoxidizer and alloying agent or degassing agent), casting and welding rod coatings, etc. industry.

Ferrotitanium mainly has the following characteristics:
1. High-strength: Ferrotitanium has extremely high strength, which is much higher than ordinary steel, and has hence high tensile strength and pressure-bearing capacity.
2. Excellent Corrosion resistance: Containing a large amount of titanium element, ferrotitanium has fine corrosion resistance and can resist the erosion of many chemical substances.
3. Favorable stability: Ferrotitanium has good stability and tends not to be affected by the external environment.
4. High manufacturing cost: Since ferrotitanium contains a large amount of titanium, and titanium is a precious metal element, the manufacturing cost of ferrotitanium is also high.

-Ferrotitanium is mainly applied as a deoxidizer and degassing agent. The deoxidizing ability of titanium is much better than that of silicon and manganese, and it is capable of lowering the segregation of steel ingots, improving the quality of steel ingots, and raising the yield.
-Ferrotitanium is usually employed as an alloying agent. It is the dominating raw material of special steel types. Ferrotitanium can better the strength, corrosion resistance, and stability of steel. Widely used in stainless steel, tool steel, etc, ferrotitanium is beneficial to the performance of cast iron.
-Ferrotitanium is also commonly used in the foundry industry to improve the wear resistance, stability, processability, etc. of cast iron.
-Ferrotitanium powder could also sometimes act as a fuel in specific pyrotechnic compositions.
