In 1924, Seth reported on the Vanadium-containing Iron Ore-Vanadium-Containing Pig Iron and Vanadium Slag Process proposed by Sweden, using vanadium slag as a raw material for the production of vanadium pentoxide and ferrovanadium. During the Japanese invasion of China, in 1942, German technology was introduced, and the construction of "Nanman Special Iron Co., Ltd." was started with Chengde vanadium titanium magnetite concentrate as raw material to produce ferrovanadium containing about 30% V.

3.In 1954, the Iron and Steel Industry Administration of the Ministry of Heavy Industry of the Ministry of Heavy Industry issued the scientific research task of "Vanadium Titanomagnetite Concentrate Pyrometallurgical Smelting and Extraction of Vanadium and Preparation of Ferro vanadium in Chengde Damiao". It was completed in 1955 and laid the foundation for the construction of China's ferrovanadium industry. In 1958, Jinzhou Ferroalloy Plant resumed the production of ferrovanadium from Chengde vanadium titanomagnetite concentrate as raw material. In 1959, the production of ferrovanadium from vanadium slag began. In 1978, Panzhihua Iron and Steel Company began to produce vanadium slag, making China enter the ranks of the world's largest vanadium producers.;
