Ferrovanadium is a ferroalloy composed of vanadium and iron. It is mainly used as an alloy additive in steelmaking. High-vanadium ferrovanadium is also used as an additive for non-ferrous alloys.

Distinguished by reduction equipment: electric furnace method smelted in an electric furnace (including carbothermal method, electrosilicothermal method, and electric thermite method). Ferrovanadium and other vanadium alloys are used in carbon steel, alloy steel high strength steel, and HSLA (High Strength Low Alloy) steel. These steels are then used to make automotive parts, pipes, tools, and more. Vanadium-containing high-strength low alloy steel (HSLA) is widely used in oil/gas pipelines, buildings, bridges, rails, pressure vessels, and carriages due to its high strength. Vanadium is mainly used in non-ferrous alloys to produce vanadium-titanium alloys, such as Ti-6Al-4V, Ti-6Al-6V-2Sn, and Ti-8Al-1V-Mo. Ti-6Al-4V alloy is an excellent high-temperature structural material used to manufacture aircraft and rockets. It is highly valued in the United States.
