A new production method for high-purity molybdenum electrodes is introduced. Specific steps are as follows:
(1) First, press molybdenum powder (mass purity: 99.9%) with a particle size of 2.5μm-4.0μm and an oxygen mass content of 400ppm-600ppm into a molybdenum billet. The molybdenum blank is then put into a resistance sintering furnace and pre-sintered under the protection of vacuum or reducing atmosphere (hydrogen).

The pre-sintering process is as follows: first pre-sinter from room temperature to 1200°C for 4 hours, then keep warm, and then increase the temperature from 1200°C to 1350°C over 1h-2h. , keep warm for 2h-4h.

(2) Put the pre-sintered molybdenum billet in step (1) into a medium frequency induction furnace and sinter it under hydrogen as a protective atmosphere to obtain a molybdenum electrode with a mass purity greater than 99.99%.

The sintering process is as follows: first, the temperature is raised for sintering, from room temperature for 1h-2h to 1500°C, and kept at temperature for 1h-2h. Then heat up from 1500℃ for 1h-2h to 1750℃, keep for 2h-4h, then heat up from 1750℃ for 1h-2h to 1800℃-1950℃. C, keep warm for 4h-6h.

Compared with existing technologies, the advantages of this manufacturing method are:

(1) The carbon and oxygen mass content of the product is less than 10ppm.
(2) The operation is simple, the production cost is low, the production efficiency is high, the metal loss is small, the overall yield is high, and a large number of electrodes of different specifications can be produced conveniently and quickly.
