Ferrovanadium is a ferroalloy of vanadium and iron. Usually, the vanadium content of vanadium ores is too low, and it is difficult to produce ferrovanadium directly from vanadium ores. Generally, vanadium pentoxide is produced first, and then ferrovanadium is produced from vanadium pentoxide.
Vanadium has an atomic number of 23, an atomic weight of 50.942, a melting point of 1887 degrees, and a boiling point of 3337 degrees. Generally speaking, the vanadium content in ferrovanadium is more than 40%. The melting point of the material is 1480°C, the solid density is 7.0t/m³, the bulk density is 3.3~3.9t/m³, and the block size used is <200.
method of processing
Raw materials used to produce vanadium include vanadium magnetite, etc., but these raw materials contain low vanadium and require hydrometallurgy. First, vanadium pentoxide is extracted from these raw materials, and then the vanadium pentoxide is smelted into ferrovanadium and vanadium additives. Vanadium magnetite concentrate is the main raw material for the production of vanadium, and 90% of the world's vanadium production is produced with this raw material.
