Bulk synthetic diamond is required in certain applications and is produced by arranging carbonaceous materials in a niobium crucible and applying a combination of high pressure and high temperature (HPHT).
Niobium crucibles are made from sheet metal by deep drawing. The surface finish and quality of these crucibles are critical to the final quality of the synthetic diamond.
