solvent method. The solvent method is a commonly used method for smelting high carbon ferromanganese. In addition to manganese ore and coke, the charge composition also includes lime and high alkalinity slag during smelting.
The alkalinity is B=1.3~1.4. Sufficient reducing agent is used to reduce the manganese content in the waste slag as much as possible and improve the recovery rate of manganese. This method is used to smelt high-carbon ferromanganese with poor and rich manganese ores. This method will be discussed in detail later.
