These precipitates hinder dislocation movement, increasing strength​ and hardness​ without large losses in ductility.

2.Nitrogen Contribution

Nitrogen accelerates the formation of vanadium nitrides, which are even finer and more thermally stable than carbides.

Nitrogen also enhances precipitation strengthening and can improve age‑hardening response​ in certain steels.
